Adjustable Displacement Lubricator – 1/4 x 40 Thread
A compact adjustable displacement lubricator designed for model steam engines and miniature steam plants. This lubricator provides a controlled supply of steam oil to the engine, helping to maintain effective lubrication during operation.
The adjustable design allows the oil feed rate to be regulated to suit the requirements of your particular engine.
How It Works
Steam is admitted into the lubricator through the adjustable valve. As the steam condenses inside the lubricator, the resulting water collects at the bottom of the reservoir. The water then displaces the steam oil, forcing a controlled amount of oil into the steam line where it is carried through to the engine.
The valve allows the rate of displacement to be fine-tuned, making it suitable for a range of model steam engines and operating conditions.
Filling & Draining
To refill the lubricator:
- Close the steam inlet valve.
- Open the drain valve to remove the condensed water.
- Remove the filling plug.
- Refill with suitable steam oil.
- Replace the filling plug and return the lubricator to service.
Installation
The lubricator can be fitted directly to the steam chest or installed into the steam line close to the engine using a suitable tee connection.
